Hello, love the essay. I wonder though, can you please elaborate on how is the view contrary to general science?

Mainstream science tends to be materialist. When discussing ideas, information, beliefs, psyche, consciousness, laws of nature, memories, relationships and other intangibles, it is by default assumed they exist only within matter. In brains, on hard drives, on paper. The contrarian idea here is that they may exist on their own.

I don’t say there are no scientists and theories that hold this view. Only that it is a minority view.
